Mark Frary graduated from University College London in 1989 with a first class degree in astronomy and physics. He then went on to study nuclear physics at the CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.
Despite giving up academia for journalism, he retains a keen interest in science and writes about a wide range of subjects on a regular basis, including the latest advances in technology, space exploration, healthcare and codebreaking. His work has been published by The Times, Reuters and Random House.
He is the co-author of Codebreaker, a history of secret communication; The Origins of the Universe for Dummies; and Future Proof, a look at how sci-fi gadgets have become reality. He is currently working on a science book for teenagers, Freaky Science.
